Why You Shouldn’t Miss The Anzani Experience at Ville Sommet This July 20

On Sunday, July 20, Ville Sommet in Alfonso, Cavite will host The Anzani Experience, a thoughtfully curated event that brings together food, wine, art, and local hospitality. Led by Chef Marco Anzani, the experience features a five course lunch paired with a vertical wine tasting. The dishes are designed not just for flavor but for storytelling. I visited the venue ahead of the event and was able to try a few exquisite items from their menu. The Spinach Flatbread, topped with roasted garlic, mozzarella di buffalo, sun dried tomato, and black olive, was rich and well balanced. The Red Wine Porcini, with parmesan crisp, capes mushrooms, and Sangiovese reduction, was a personal favorite. I could easily enjoy another serving. I also had the opportunity to try the Tiramisu Delight; timely, given the current resurgence of tiramisu-inspired desserts. This rendition offered a more refined approach, combining cinnamon mascarpone, almond espresso liqueur, and dates, presented with precision and elegance. Another highlight was the Homemade Labneh Dip, served with pomegranate jus and coffee sourdough crisp. The combination of the tangy, creamy labneh with the subtle acidity of the pomegranate and the texture of the crisp created a balanced and memorable bite. It’s the kind of dish that lingers in the mind long after the meal. The Anzani Experience More than just a culinary event, The Anzani Experience brings something new to Alfonso. It offers something refined but accessible, encouraging locals to discover flavors that feel both rooted and transportive. The ambiance at Ville Sommet feels relaxed and welcoming, but there is also an understated elegance to the setting that makes the experience feel special without being distant. Guests can also enjoy coffee made with the Anzani Blend. I had a cappuccino during my visit and found it smooth, strong, and perfectly crafted. For cocktails, we sampled Italian Winter, Portofino, and a Vermouth cocktail, each offering distinct profiles that matched the overall mood of the place. Beyond the meal, there will be cake demonstrations, art sessions, and installations that add depth to the afternoon. DJ Brian Cua will provide music as part of the Sula Mixology launch, where guests can try different craft cocktails with a Cocktail Pass. Another highlight is the Chefs and Co. segment led by Chef Frances Tariga. This part of the event includes a walk around tasting with nine chefs including Aaron Isip, Cara Davis, Kevin Villarica, and Mikee Lopez, among others. Each brings a different style to the table, giving guests a wider view of contemporary food culture. A Culinary Legacy Rooted in Sustainability Established in 2008, Anzani is a celebration of over two decades of Chef Marco Anzani’s refined interpretation of New Mediterranean cuisine in the Philippines. The 2025 menu draws inspiration from time honored Mediterranean recipes while embracing Philippine ingredients. These were sourced from local farms, aquaculture, and ethical meat producers. Each dish is guided by values of sustainability, provenance, and traceability. Founded by Chef Marco and Kate Dychangco-Anzani, Anzani continues to evolve with intention. They chose Alfonso, Cavite as the next step in their journey, recognizing its agricultural zoning and potential to contribute meaningfully to the future of food sustainability in the country. The Anzani Experience signifies not only a significant milestone, but also a continued commitment to engaging local communities and advancing a meaningful legacy in culinary sustainability and innovation. The event will run from 11:30 AM to 4:00 PM. With limited seating available, early reservation is recommended. See you around! For bookings, please message Anzani at Ville Sommet Tagaytay here.

This is How I Transformed My Damaged Hair at Extraordineri Salon

Extraordineri Salon Tagaytay; if you’ve ever gone through the bleached-hair phase, you’ll understand the struggle of dry ends, stubborn tangles, and that inevitable moment of panic when your hair feels more like straw than strands. That was me. So when I booked an appointment at Extraordineri Salon, I wasn’t just hoping for a glow-up, I needed a rescue mission. Lol! Located at Ayala Malls Serin – Tagaytay, Extraordineri Salon isn’t the average mall salon. From the moment I stepped in, I knew I was in good hands. The vibe was calm and welcoming, with staff who actually take the time to assess your hair’s real condition before doing anything drastic. IF ONLY YOU SAW MY HAIR !!! I came in with bleached, overworked hair and walked out with shiny, smooth crown. Thanks to their expert keratin treatment and hair color refresh that gave my strands new life. There were no unnecessary upsells, no rushed sessions. They gave authentic care, honest advice, and techniques that delivered visible results. Here their services and packages: I got a lot of questions about the exact color and it’s not jetblack. Hehe. I went for the 66/0 Intense Dark Blonde. They recommended to tone down my hair first because they cannot cancel out the red dye as it’s similar to black. So if you have concerns with anything hair, feel free to ask for their professional advice, it’s worth it. Oh! I forgot to mention that I got layers and curtain bangs. RIGHT. As someone who likes her hair short, I was kind of hesitant to do it but I gave their recommendations a chance and it really did look better on me. My most favorite look so far in my 20’s. Huhu. What stood out the most was how intentional the whole experience felt. They customized the treatment based on my hair’s needs, used quality products, and took the time to explain aftercare. I think it’s the kind of service that makes you want to come back, not just for the results, but for the experience. Here are the latest updates: So if your hair’s been through it like mine has, or you’re just due for a self-care day with serious results, I can’t recommend Extraordineri Salon enough. A little reminder that damaged hair or not, you deserve a little hair magic and this place gets it right.

Tagaytay Staycation: Hidden Paradise in the Little Santorini of Tagaytay

In the last few years, I’ve been to more than 30 staycation spots in Tagaytay. There were units that are extremely alike in terms of aesthetic and service, but there are also BNBs that made my experience so memorable that I always come back for them. One of these is The Hidden Paradise at La Bella Residences in Tagaytay. It is our third time here and our experience was still as amazing as the first time. We arrived at La Bella Residences’ lobby by 3PM and Ate Vhon, the unit caretaker assisted us in the check-in process. Keep in mind that you have to leave an identification card at the lobby that you will claim by time of check out. The Hidden Paradise at La Bella Tagaytay Upon entering the unit, you will be welcomed by the dreamy ambiance of The Hidden Paradise. On the right side stood their kitchenette where you can prepare your food during your stay. They also have a Dolce Gusto machine for coffee lovers and your payment comes with coffee capsules that you can enjoy hot or cold. Of all the staycation spots we visited, this is the only one with the Dolce Gusto machine and we just love how it makes our coffee experience better. We’ve tried brewing coffee from coffee machines at other units before, but you cannot really say if the beans are fresh and if the brew is good. That’s why this improves our mood 100x because every cup of coffee is ensured clean and delicious. Just beside the kitchen is a table for 2, we have always admired this setup because it really gives that romantic date night vibe while watching a movie. To maintain the clean and fresh atmosphere their guests love, cooking is not allowed due to the lack of exhaust system in La Bella Tagaytay. For your convenience, they provide a microwave and rice cooker that you can use for simple meal reheating. But don’t worry, there are a lot of local restaurants to explore nearby! And speaking of movies, this unit offers unlimited use of Wi-Fi and Netflix so you can binge your favorite shows on our 22-hour stay. Their sound bar wraps everything together as a complete movie night package – we love it! As for us, we have finally started watching Black Mirror’s new season which left us too traumatized to continue watching the rest of the show. Hahahahaha! Let us take this a step at a time. What else do I need to know? They also have the softest bed that can fit up 2 adults and 1 kid so if you’re planning to take your family for a quick Tagaytay escape, this might be perfect for you. During staycations, it is understandable that you have to leave the room if you want to buy snacks or supplies and what we love about this unit is that they have available snacks and drinks for sale just in case you’re too cozy to go out. Note: All proceeds from food purchases inside the unit go to Ate Vhon, the unit caretaker. So if you want to tip for her warm gestures and assistance, this would be the best way. 🙂 But if you’re craving something else, you can just go to the lobby because across the walk is a mini grocery where you can buy everything for meryenda, midnight snack, and breakfast. There are also restaurants around the area so make sure to check them out. Lastly, your payment comes with complete toiletries that you can consume during your stay including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, fresh towels, dental kits, and tissue paper. Just what I needed because I forgot my toothbrush at home. Hahahaha! Oh and I forgot to mention that the room offers mineral water to guests which is very convenient given that we run out of bottled water every time so it’s nice to stay in a place where clean water is already provided. All in all, we had a great time as always. The Hidden Paradise is our go-to staycation spot in La Bella Tagaytay and I’m sure once you had a taste of their service, you’ll love them too. Inclusions Amenities Optional Amenites with Minimal Fee Low-Season Promo Rates CHECK-IN: 3PM CHECKOUT: 12NN next day Where to find them? La Bella Tagaytay, Brgy. ADORE CAFE: Barn-themed Coffee Shop in Alfonso, Cavite

Recently, I came across a uniquely-themed coffee shop in our hometown serving something new that would uplift the Pinoy culture and leave a warm memory of the cafe experience. In a small barangay in Alfonso, Cavite proudly stands Adore Cafe, a barn-themed coffee spot you would love! I have to admit that sometimes, I get tired of eating and reviewing the same food selections from different coffee shops (huhuhu) so I am genuinely happy to share that I tried Adore Cafe’s unique take on food and drinks in Upli, Alfonso, Cavite. Minimalist coffee shops may be a kind of thing in this generation being raised with fads and trends, but this cafe proves that there are still “personality” businesses or brands that come from a place of a unique identity or inspiration. Adore Cafe started as a dream that my partner and I shared three years ago, long before we moved to Alfonso. Our love for coffee and our desire to create a cozy, welcoming space for not just our family inspired us to bring this vision to life. Naming the cafe after my late mother made it even more special—to us, it was not just a business but a tribute to love, memories, and warmth. We envisioned a place where coffee served as an instrument to bring people together so that they could slow down and create moments to cherish. – Adore Cafe Team WHAT WE TRIED Adore Special – This is espresso, milk, and their special salted top foam. So good! I prefer to let it sit first as the ice melts but it’s nice. Coffee beans are Brazil, Arabica-Robusta. Adore Cafe is more than just a coffee shop. It’s a place where you can enjoy good food and drinks as if you are at home. Here, you can relax in a cozy, laid-back atmosphere and take in the beautiful Tagaytay weather with handcrafted coffee and meals made with love. We’re not about mass-produced flavors—we put real effort and care into every cup and dish, ensuring quality without the burden of a high price tag. – Adore Cafe Team Tuyo Pasta – Bold, smoky, and packed with umami—like garlic oil pasta with a salty Pinoy kick. Highly recommended if you’re looking for something new to try. Tinapa Pasta – Milder and creamier but still smoky, with a rich, buttery flavor that melts into every bite. Best pick for those who have adventurous preferences. Lovette!!!! Finally, in June last year, we got around to making our dream a reality; one second we were setting up furniture and equipment and before we knew it, we were serving the tables of our families, friends, and most importantly, our customers. Until now, we have never looked at our cafe as a medium of profit—more so, it was a place that we shared with guests, welcoming them with extraordinary coffee and a space that felt like home. – Adore Cafe Team All in all, my ADORE CAFE experience has been so memorable! We had small, fun, and informative conversations with the barista during our meals and the ambiance just felt homey. Alfonso, Cavite has a lot more to offer when it comes to food and delicacies and this would make a great place for you to try something new along with coffee. Coffee is more than just a drink for us—it’s a lifestyle! We have always been fascinated by how small sips of coffee can spark conversations and bring moments of peace to brighten our days. We were so passionate about the craft of coffee-making that my partner and I sourced countless times for the best beans to ensure that what we were offering to our customers was only made of high-quality ingredients. Our love for it even expanded by adding other things to our menu, such as comforting pasta dishes, hearty rice meals, and delightful pastries. We wanted to make sure that there was something for everyone to enjoy, whether you’re here for a cup of coffee or tea, a sweet treat, or a filling meal! – Adore Cafe Team While I’m not having coffee as much as I used to in my previous blogs, my love for the culture and community remains the same. Supporting local businesses is my way to amplify small stories, make them heard online, and become a catalyst for change and inspiration. In this article, I hope you feel inspired to visit more impactful brands and share how proud you are to be part of their journey. Have fun at Adore Cafe! To our fur moms and fur dads, we are also pet-friendly! We love seeing our guests bring their furry friends along to share the experience as we also have some of our own. From the bottom of our hearts, we Adore you! WHERE TO FIND THEM? Pin: Adore Cafe Address: Sitio Hawilian Uno, Brgy. Upli, Alfonso, Cavite

Caca Cat Café: The first-ever Cat Coffee Shop in Alfonso, Cavite

Newly opened Cat Cafè in Alfonso, Cavite? You’re reading that right! 😻 If you’ve visited our hometown before, I’m sure you heard of the rise of thriving coffee shops at the hidden gem of the south. As someone who’s always on the hunt for local hangout spots, here’s a new one to add to your long list of ‘to-visits.’ I was also surprised when I discovered Caca Cat Café here in Alfonso, Cavite, serving coffee, cheesecakes, tea, and snacks. Gusto ko sana silang i-gatekeep kasi kawawa naman yung cats kapag overstimulated sa crowd but it would also be nice to support this local coffee shop and for you guys to of course, meet their babies. Back in 2024, my partner was planning to start a traditional café business. However, a year earlier, we received an unexpected gift from a friend who was preparing to move abroad. To our surprise, the gift turned out to be two adorable and sweet cats named Whisky and Pablo. Caring for them quickly became a joy, and we wanted to ensure they were always happy and well looked after. That’s when inspiration struck. we decided to combine the two things we love most. I’ve always had a deep love for cats, and my partner has an undeniable passion for coffee. And so, the idea for our cat café was born, a space where our two worlds come together to create something truly special. – Jes and Ram, owners of Caca Cat Cafè When asked about their love for cats, Since I was a little girl (about 7 years old) , I’ve always been drawn to cats. There’s something magical about them that’s hard to put into words. Just touching their soft fur brings an instant sense of calm and happiness, as if they carry a unique kind of warmth that soothes the soul. Their sweetness, their adorable faces, and their innocent nature make them impossible not to love. Whether they’re purring quietly by your side or playfully chasing a toy, cats have a way of making every moment feel lighter and more joyful. My love for them has only grown over the years, and now I find so much joy in sharing that love with others through our café. WHAT WE TRIED: Goldrush Latte (₱175) – Yum! This is for you if you’re up for a mocha-flavored caffeinated drink. Subtle kape, strong chocolate. Sugarwood Latte (₱175) – Love maple and cinnamon combo? Me toooo so I ordered this signature drink from the menu. Well-balanced, sana makatulog ako tonight. Hahahahaha! Meat Lovers Pizza Toasts (₱235) – Got this as our snack and nagustuhan namin yung flavors because it tasted like home. If you’re looking for a unique way to de-stress, visit our café and enjoy what we like to call ‘kitty therapy.’ It’s the perfect escape to unwind and recharge. Caca Cat Café is here to provide / create a warm and homey atmosphere with cozy, wood-inspired vibes, where our adorable cuddle cats are the heart of the experience. – Jes and Ram WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: The best time to visit is around 4PM for the sunset photos + vvvvv good lighting inside the cafe. Lastly as much as we want you to enjoy every moment with our furry friends, we kindly ask all customers to follow our cat café rules. These rules are in place to ensure the safety and well-being of our cats and to create a safe, relaxing environment for everyone. Thank you for your understanding and for helping us keep our space a happy haven for both people and cats! – Jes and Ram WHERE TO FIND THEM?
